Anu, Louise, Marvic and Sofia used their project as an opportunity to find out more about the Chinese culture whilst giving the participants at their event a taste by exploring traditional Chinese celebrations.
They started their lantern decorating session with a quick icebreaker to help participants to get to know each other before launching into a snappy presentation explaining the historical context behind sky lanterns. Then the painting got underway, with students creating a wide array of decorative patterns, many deciding to give the lanterns their own cultural twist.
Unfortunately, the harsh British winter put paid to the planned lantern launch on the day.
